We’ve improved Splice Desktop: Apple Silicon optimization, Stack previews, and more

We’re frequently making improvements to our Desktop app to bring new features, functionalities, and workflow level-ups.

The latest version packs several new features, including optimization for Apple Silicon machines, more personalized browsing features, the ability to generate a certified license for your samples, and a way to preview Stacks, right from Splice Desktop.

Splice Desktop is now optimized for Apple M1 and M2 chips

We’ve updated Desktop to run natively on Apple Silicon machines equipped with M1 and M2 processors. Now, Splice Desktop will run faster and more efficiently on Apple’s latest and greatest. Download the latest version of Splice Desktop to get going.

Recommended for You comes to Desktop

Our Recommended for You feature, previously only on Splice web, is now available on Desktop. Recommended for You serves a daily dose of samples, tailored to you, based on sounds you’ve previously downloaded. It’s updated every day, so you can tap into it whenever you need inspiration. Head to the Browse tab in Splice Desktop to check it out.

Generate a proof of license from Desktop

In December 2022, we launched a new feature on our website that lets you generate a proof of license PDF for the Splice Sounds you’ve downloaded. Now, that feature is accessible via Splice Desktop. You’ll find the ‘Generate certified license’ option in the right-hand sidebar when you select samples in the Sounds tab—you can even select multiple samples to generate one license document that covers them all.

Preview Stacks in full

Lastly, you can now preview Stacks in Desktop. Previously, you could only see the samples that made up your Stacks. Now, with our audio engine built into Desktop, you can hear Stacks as they sounded in the CoSo app or in our new Create a Stack feature.
