In celebration of 50 years of hip hop, we recently teamed up with TuneCore and legendary freestyle king Papoose for a very special Splice Discord Beat Battle.
Participants used a shared Collection of sounds to create their own beats, with $1,000, a one-year Unlimited subscription to TuneCore, an Artist Spotlight feature on TuneCore Global Socials, a one-on-one meeting with TuneCore’s Artist & Partner Relations team, and last but certainly not least, a freestyle from Papoose over their submission on the line.
Above, Papoose listened to the beats that made it to the final round live, and chose the final winnersāthe stream starts at 6:11 in the embedded video. In the process, he shares countless insights about what he looks for in beats as a rapper.
